Magical, Mystical Xinjiang

I shot this series with my first DSLR in 2009, along the ancient Silk Road in Xinjiang. I had been captivated by the Silk Road for years before I ever stood on it. I didn't know what to expect, but what I saw has stayed with me ever since. The raw beauty and sheer scale is hard to describe. A landscape so vast it makes you feel both insignificant and completely alive. These images are my humble homage to a magical land that is slowly fading from our collective memory.
